EVALUATING FUNCTIONAL BENEFIT AFTER PROSTHODONTIC REHABILITATION IN PATIENTS EXPOSED TO RADIOTHERAPY
A prosthesis can remain intact while providing little practical benefit. Conversely, a patient can report an important improvement in social participation despite continuing oral symptoms. Assessment after radiotherapy is therefore more informative when it describes both the condition of the reconstruction and the effect on the person's daily life. Partial and complete edentulism also differ in the biological structures at risk, making one technical endpoint insufficient for every patient.
