Event-Triggered Control: Reducing Communication and Computation in Cyber-Physical Systems
Classical digital control samples a plant at a fixed period regardless of whether anything has changed. Event-triggered control instead updates the control signal only when a condition on the system state is violated. This review explains the basic idea, the main trigger families, and the trade-off between resource savings and design complexity. No new experimental data are reported. An AI language model (Claude, Anthropic) was used in preparing this manuscript.
