An initial study of large-grained calculation adaptation using software engineering

While the use of diverse hardware has increased in recent years, significant barriers to effective utilization remain. We have proposed "environment-adaptive software" that automatically performs tasks such as code transformation, tailored to the deployment environment, to ensure proper operation. Beyond the offloading of fine-grained loops, we have previously investigated the automated offloading of coarse-grained functional blocks to diverse hardware using Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs); however, this approach faced the limitation of being applicable only when the similarity between blocks was extremely high. This paper focuses on improving the automated offloading of coarse-grained functional blocks to diverse hardware. IEICE Technical Workshop on Network Software, NWS-41-10, Oct. 2026.

Abstract
