Does the Yess Programme Encourage Youth Entrepreneurship in Agriculture? An Empirical Analysis

The phenomenon of low human resource renewal in the agricultural sector, driven by the declining interest of the younger generation in pursuing a career in agriculture, has become an issue that must be addressed. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the YESS Programme and its influence on youth entrepreneurial interest in the agricultural sector. The study is based on the Theory of Planned Behavior, which explains how programme interventions can encourage entrepreneurial intention among young people. The sampling method used was simple random sampling, with the sample size determined using the Slovin formula. The data analysis techniques used were a rating scale to assess the effectiveness of the YESS Programme and multiple linear regression to examine the influence of the YESS Programme's effectiveness on increasing the youth entrepreneurial interest in the agricultural sector. The results showed that the effectiveness of the YESS Programme, measured using four Programme effectiveness indicators, was categorized as highly effective and simultaneously had a significant positive effect on increasing youth entrepreneurial interest in the agricultural sector. However, partial analysis showed that programme objective achievement and monitoring significantly enhanced youth entrepreneurial interest, while target accuracy and programme socialization had positive but insignificant effects. These findings provide practical implications for policymakers and programme managers in strengthening entrepreneurship development programmes for rural youth, particularly by improving programme monitoring and ensuring the achievement of programme objectives.
