Rhithrogena undetermined Sowa 1984

Rhithrogena sp. semicolorata group (sensu Sowa 1984) = Rhithrogena sp. 4 sensu Vuataz et al. (2011)? TAXO-2022. This taxon corresponds to one morphotype belonging to the semicolorata group, identified by larval and nymphal (ovocytes) stages. Larvae and ovocytes were close to R. puytoraci Sowa & Degrange, 1987, but they do not meet all the identification criteria: less comb-shaped bristles of the lacinia, differences in femora patch size and in shape of bristles of surface of femora, in first gills plica and egg chorion. In addition, our molecular data (PP 387913 to PP 387915) do not correspond to any known species or haplotype in the genetic databases but matched with the sequences from Vuataz et al. (2011), referenced as Rhithrogena sp. 4 in NCBI. We therefore considered it as a new species to describe.

Abstract

Rhithrogena sp. semicolorata group (sensu Sowa 1984) = Rhithrogena sp. 4 sensu Vuataz et al. (2011)? TAXO-2022.
