Effectiveness of a Self-Control Strategies Training Program in Enhancing Sustainable Behaviors and Mitigating Climate Distress: A Clinical Neurobehavioral Study
Background & Objectives:Human behavior directly shapes environmental outcomes, while climate stressors trigger chronic psychological distress. Self-control relies heavily on prefrontal executive functioning to regulate clinical neurobehavioral responses, down-regulate climate anxiety, and curb immediate, impulse-driven unsustainable habits. This study evaluates the clinical neurobehavioral efficacy of a structured Self-Control Strategies Training Program in fostering sustainable actions, enhancing executive cognitive regulation, and ensuring long-term behavioral retention.
