The Birth of Basin Intelligence, Reimagined: how GLIAG, GIP, GBW Guyana–Suriname Basin and GBW South America convert basin evidence into decisions
Pre-launch flagship essay, Revision 1.1 (3 November 2026). The Guyana–Suriname Basin now runs on two development clocks. Guyana passed one billion barrels on 28 September 2026 with four FPSOs and more than 900,000 bbl/d installed; Suriname is building the USD 10.5 billion GranMorgu development for first oil in 2028. A map, a well list or a news feed no longer carries the decisions this basin now requires. This essay sets out how GLIAG combines five components into one decision system: GBW Guyana–Suriname Basin, GBW South America, GLIAG's professional interpretation, the GLIAG GSB Intelligence Platform (GIP) and the ASK Marcel guided intelligence agent. It describes the six capabilities disclosed during the pre-launch campaign, from HERKOMST provenance to local-content and sovereign-retention intelligence, and the evidence discipline that separates verified fact, GLIAG interpretation, assumption, gap and trigger. GLIAG plans the commercial birth of GIP in Paramaribo on 18–19 November 2026, during the AAPG Suriname Technical Symposium; that is a GLIAG commercial milestone and implies no AAPG or Staatsolie endorsement.
