Edukasi Literasi Keuangan Berbasis Green Economy di SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Samarinda
Strengthening financial literacy from an early age is an important foundation for shaping the character of young people so that they can manage financial resources wisely and responsibly. This community service program aimed to improve students’ financial literacy through green economy-based education using digital financial applications at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Samarinda. The preparation stage included forming a team consisting of four lecturers and two students and developing the program proposal. The activity was implemented through five stages: a pre-test to measure students’ initial understanding, delivery of financial literacy materials based on the green economy concept, completion of student worksheets (LKPD) through pocket-money budgeting simulations, discussion and question-and-answer sessions, and a post-test to measure understanding after the educational intervention. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding after participating in the program. The participants’ average score increased from 8.58 in the pre-test to 9.91 in the post-test. This improvement indicates that education integrating financial literacy and the green economy concept can strengthen students’ understanding of financial management, particularly pocket-money budgeting, while increasing awareness of environmentally friendly consumption behavior (green consumer behavior). The program is expected to serve as an initial step toward developing sustainable financial and consumption habits from school age.
