Peningkatan Kemampuan Problem Solving Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun melalui Game Digital Edukasi Keselamatan Diri “Area Privasiku”
The alarmingly high prevalence of sexual violence against young children underscore the urgent need for preventive efforts that strengthen children’s problem-solving competencies in potentially dangerous situations. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of “Area Privasiku”, a digital self-safety educational game, in enhancing problem-solving skills among children aged 5-6 years. a quantitative, pre-experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest design was employed, involving a sample of 30 children. Data were collected through an observation checklist comprehension of basic concepts, problem identification, formulation of initial responses and solutions, and recognition of preventive strategies. As the pretest and posttest scores did not meet the assumption pf normal distribution, the data were analyzed using the nonparametric Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. Findings revealed a marked improvement in mean scores, from 4.83 at pretest to 6.83 in the posttest, with the Wilcoxon test producing in a Z-value of -4.501 and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate an improvement in the problem-solving skills of children aged 5–6 years through the digital self-safety educational game "Area Privasiku." The improvement was evident in the overall score as well as in all seven indicators, with the largest gains occurring in the early stages of problem solving, namely understanding basic concepts and determining initial responses.
