Values-Based Education (VBE) In Higher Education Career Development: A Transformational Framework for The Modern Workforce
As the global workforce faces increasing volatility and ethical complexity, higher education institutions must shift from purely transactional career services to a transformational Values-Based Education (VBE) model. This paper proposes a curriculum centred on three core pillars: (i) Resilience & Leadership, (ii) Courage & Justice, and (iii) Ethical Decision-Making Skills. The objective is to equip students with a robust moral framework that informs their professional identity. Utilizing qualitative document analysis and thematic synthesis, this paper provides strategic framework solutions to address systemic vocational challenges. By internalizing these values, graduates will not only seek employment but will lead with purpose, navigate setbacks with emotional intelligence, and advocate for equity within their respective industries. This paper contributes to vocational literature by providing a multidisciplinary framework that bridges virtue ethics, cognitive career theory, and adult learning to resolve early-career moral depletion.
