DI BALIK TUNTUTAN PENGASUHAN: PERAN RESILIENSI DALAM STRES PENGASUHAN PADA ORANG TUA ANAK DENGAN GANGGUAN SPEKTRUM AUTISME

Challenges in raising a child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) demand continuous, high-level physical and psychological commitment from caregivers. Resilience serves as an internal protective mechanism that shields parents from chronic emotional strain. This study aims to examine the effect of parental resilience on parenting stress among parents of children with ASD, with the hypothesis that resilience is negatively correlated with parenting stress. A quantitative correlational-explanatory design with a cross-sectional approach was implemented involving 52 parents (90.4% mothers) selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via the Indonesian-adapted Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and the Parental Stress Scale (PSS), then analyzed using simple linear regression in JASP. The empirical results demonstrated that resilience exerted a significant negative effect on parenting stress (B=-0.734; SE=0.182; β=-0.495; t=-4.032; p<0.001), accounting for an effective contribution of 24.5% (R^2=0.245). These findings substantiate the hypothesis that higher parental resilience buffers against caregiving burdens, highlighting the strategic necessity of family-based resilience interventions.
