Effective Positioning of Outrigger in Non- Orthogonal Rcc High-Rise Building under Wind Loading for Different Seismic Zones and Soil Conditions using Etabs
The present research concentrates on finding the optimum outrigger location in a 60-storey non-orthogonal reinforced cement concrete (RCC) high-rise structure subjected to wind loads, considering variations in seismic zones and soil conditions. The building is modelled and analyzed using ETABS, with three different outrigger configurations located at 0.3H, 0.56H, and 0.75H. The structural behavior is examined under varying wind-speed conditions associated with the selected seismic zones and soil classifications. The analytical results indicates that changes in seismic zone and soil type do not influence the modal time period of the structure. Among the configurations considered, the outrigger system placed at 0.3H demonstrates better performance in controlling the building deflection. The findings emphasize that the strategic placement of outriggers plays a significant role in enhancing the lateral stability and overall wind-resistant performance of non-orthogonal high-rise RCC buildings.
