A Feedback-Controlled Tunability Index for Rotating-Wall Drive in Penning–Malmberg Traps: Simulation Results and a Proposal for Experimental Validation
Simulation of a feedback controller that regulates a phenomenological tunability index Z for rotating-wall drive in non-neutral plasma traps. A 50% step increase in drag is corrected within 0.12 s in closed loop. The functional form of the index is withheld (pending patent). I do not have laboratory access and am seeking an experimental collaborator/co-author with any suitable trap (preferably Penning–Malmberg with rotating-wall electrodes) who can test this work in the laboratory.
