Leadership for Building a Shared Purpose of Improvement
This study analyzes how a school management team is creating a school that is transitioning toward a Professional Learning Community (PLC). Using a qualitative methodology, the research adopts a case study approach and conducts semi-structured interviews with various members of the educational community. The study used holistic content analysis to interpret the gathered information. The primary findings reveal a shared purpose within the management team that extends to the broader educational community. Emphasis is placed on collaborative efforts, ongoing training, mutual support between management and teaching staff, and the cultivation of intermediate leadership and student involvement. The institution prioritizes giving families a voice and remains open to input from the community and professionals proposing educational enhancements. In conclusion, the study asserts that a clearly defined shared objective, a culture of trust, intermediate leadership, and collaboration are key to establishing a PLC.
