Digital tools for assessing and managing the innovation and investment potential of food industry enterprises

This article examines how digital tools assess and manage the innovation and investment potential of food industry enterprises, particularly in the context of the economy’s digital transformation. It underscores the importance of innovation and investment potential as a foundation for modernizing production, enhancing competitiveness, and ensuring enterprises’ sustainable development. The study reviews key digital tools, including Business Intelligence (BI) systems, ERP systems, Big Data technologies, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and financial modeling platforms. It identifies key indicators for assessing enterprises’ innovation and investment capacity, such as return on investment (ROI), innovation expenditures, production automation levels, labor productivity, and resource utilization efficiency. It also outlines ways to apply digital technologies to automate analysis of enterprise operations, forecast investment risks, optimize financial resource allocation, and monitor the implementation of innovation projects. Finally, it highlights the primary obstacles to digitalization, including high implementation costs, insufficient digital competencies among personnel, and cybersecurity risks. The study proposes practical recommendations for phased implementation of digital solutions, establishing a system of key performance indicators, and strengthening information and analytical management support. The study concludes that the comprehensive use of digital tools supports better-substantiated management decisions, increases efficiency in investment activities, and improves competitiveness for enterprises in the food industry. Future research directions include developing a comprehensive methodology for digitally assessing innovation and investment potential, as well as quantifying the economic impact of implementing digital technologies. Keywords: digital tools, digital transformation, innovation and investment potential, food industry enterprises, potential assessment, investment management, innovation-driven development, investment risks.
