PENGARUH LINGKUNGAN SEKOLAH TERHADAP PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER SISWA SETINGKAT SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA (SMP)

The school environment plays a crucial role in shaping the character of junior high school students. This study aims to analyze the influence of the school environment on student character development and to identify similarities, differences, and trends in previous research findings. This study utilized the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The literature search was conducted via Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and Publish or Perish. A total of 15 previous research articles were analyzed using a descriptive-comparative approach to identify research methods and synthesize key findings. The results of the review indicate that the majority of studies found a positive and significant influence between the school environment and students’ character development. A positive school environment helps students instill values such as responsibility, honesty, discipline, and social concern. However, the extent of the school environment’s contribution varies across studies. These differences suggest that student character development is also influenced by other factors, such as the family environment, parental roles, religious culture, teacher discipline, and social media. Thus, the school environment is one of the important factors in student character development, but its influence must be understood by taking into account other factors an the characteristics of the respondents.
