ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE, EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT AND RETENTION-RELATED OUTCOMES IN IT COMPANIES

This article examines organisational culture as a factor associated with employee/work engagement and retention-related outcomes in IT companies, developing a conceptual framework incorporating documented wartime practices of Ukrainian IT companies. It draws on culture models and empirical studies linking culture to these outcomes, plus material on SoftServe, Intellias, and MacPaw. Four relevant characteristics emerge: learning and development, communication transparency, managerial support, and autonomy; employee safety is wartimespecific, not validated. Learning-oriented culture is associated with engagement; culture is separately associated with intention to stay, and support/transparency with retention. No mediation chain from culture through engagement to retention is established; Ukrainian sources document practices without outcome measures. The framework is diagnostic, not predictive.
