Presentación de Dossier: Conferencias sobre Magnifica Humanitas
This text introduces a special dossier from Siwô´ dedicated to examining Pope Leo XIV’s encyclical Magnifica Humanitas. It explores the ethical, social, and technological implications of artificial intelligence, while highlighting the shift from state-led innovation toward the dominance of private technological power. The series of lectures on Magnifica Humanitas —organized by the National University (“the Necessary University”) and featured in this dossier— advocates for building the common good, acknowledging human limitations, promoting subsidiarity, and upholding human dignity. It further emphasizes the ethical responsibility of public universities to place knowledge, science, and education at the service of justice and freedom.
