Baetis nicolae Thomas 1983
Baetis nicolae Thomas, 1983 TAXO-2022. Despite possible confusion with other species in the alpinus group, live larvae of this Pyrenean endemic species can be recognised in the field due to its colouration, size, and a very reduced paracercus (Fig. 2 E). We provide the first sequences for this species (PP 387908 to PP 387910), which confirm our morphological identification of B. nicolae grouped in a different clade compared to the other known Pyrenean species from the alpinus group.
