THE AXIOLOGICAL TRANSFORMATION OF NATIONAL IDENTITY IN SOCIAL MODERNIZATION

The article examines the value content and transformation of national identity. Historical continuity, civic belonging and personal choice are distinguished. Cultural uniformity is challenged as a necessary condition of national unity. Layered belonging and inclusive recognition are developed as key criteria. The findings support normative analysis of identity within modernization.
