CoBra: A Corpus of German Bracketing Paradox Phrases

This paper introduces CoBra, a Corpus of German Bracketing ParadoxPhrases, and describes its construction. It characterizes CoBra as aspecialized linguistic resource that can be used both as a source ofattested examples for theoretical work on adjective-compoundmodification and as an experimentally grounded dataset, in which eachphrase is linked to the aggregated results of five psycholinguisticexperiments on adjective attachment. It explains how these envisioneduses informed the compilation process. CoBra comprises 913 attestedadjective-compound phrases drawn from sources published between 1822 and2026, and is freely available for academic use.
