Reproducibility Code for Coaching Style and Athlete Performance: A Cross-Sectional Five-Item Survey

This repository provides Python analysis code and supporting documentation for the research manuscript entitled "Coaching Style and Athlete Performance: Indirect Associations Through the Coach–Athlete Relationship, Motivation, and Training Load–Recovery Management in a Cross-Sectional Survey." The study examines associations among coaching style, coach–athlete relationship, athlete motivation, perceived training load and recovery management, and perceived athlete performance using a cross-sectional survey of 483 respondents from five sports universities in China. Each construct was assessed using a single five-point questionnaire item. The analysis code supports the calculation of descriptive statistics, correlations, direct and indirect path associations, and sensitivity analyses. The study's cross-sectional and single-item design limits causal interpretation and the assessment of construct validity. The repository documentation describes the analytical procedures and software requirements. This deposit is associated with a manuscript submitted to Scientific Reports.
