Formulation, Dispersion Characterization, and In Vitro Release of Meloxicam-Loaded Nanoemulgels
Abstract Meloxicam-loaded nanoemulgels were prepared using selected oils, Tween 80, PEG 400, and Carbopol 934 and evaluated for dispersion and topical performance. We compared nine formulations for appearance, pH, drug content, viscosity, and release across a dialysis membrane. The lead formulation produced 96.91% release at 60 min and showed a mean droplet size of 118.5 nm, polydispersity index of 0.440, and zeta potential of − 28 mV. Infrared spectra retained the principal meloxicam bands. The findings demonstrate formulation feasibility, while skin permeation, validated stability, and biological performance require further investigation.
