Drusus discolor

Drusus discolor (Rambur, 1842) TAXO. In 2015, D. discolor has been separated into four species (Oláh et al. 2015): Drusus ferdes Oláh & Coppa, 2015; Drusus kupos Oláh & Coppa, 2015; Drusus leker Oláh, 2015 and Drusus visas Oláh & Coppa, 2015. However, although Oláh relies on the genetic data from the study published by Pauls et al. (2006), their conclusions diverge significantly. Indeed, Olah’s morphological species delimitations do not align with Pauls’ haplotype groupings. Moreover, Neu et al. (2018) did not recognize these four species and suggested possible synonymy. Thus, even if our specimens could be identified as D. visas sensu Oláh et al. (2015), we decided to list the collected individuals as D. discolor.

Abstract

(2015), we decided to list the collected individuals as D. discolor.
