Quantitative Phase Imaging for Imaging through Scattering Media
Quantitative phase imaging (QPI) is a powerful optical imaging technique for label-free and quantitative measurement of transparent objects. In this study, we proposed a QPI approach through a scatterer using the self-reference on-axis coherent interferometer method. Four phase-shifted holograms with relative phase shifts are recorded for the reference and object beams. These holograms are then superposed to form a complex hologram for both the point spread hologram and the object hologram. This superposition, followed by deconvolution, enables retrieval of the object's phase information when it is occluded by a scattering medium. The phase map of the object recovered in the presence of a strong scatterer is explored in this study. This phase recovery process has wide applicability in medical imaging, optical metrology, and computational microscopy.
