A new species of the genus Coryphium Stephens, 1834 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Omaliinae: Coryphiini) from central Mongolia

A new species of the genus Coryphium Stephens, 1834 is described and illustrated: C. mechthildae sp. nov. (central Mongolia: Bayankhongor Aimag). Based on its external and internal morphological features, the new species is most similar to the Chinese C. taibaiensis Li, Li & Zhao, 2007, from which it differs by its longer and darker body, longer elytra, broader median lobe, wider parameres, and several other morphological features. The genus Coryphium is recorded from Mongolia for the first time.
