Mechanisms for implementing the sustainable development concept in the system of interregional transport and logistics interaction

The article examines the theoretical and organizational-economic foundations for implementing the concept of sustainable development within the system of interregional transport and logistics interaction. The article analyzes interregional transport and logistics cooperation as a crucial prerequisite for forming an integrated economic space, ensuring the effective functioning of regional economic systems, and enhancing their competitiveness. The study argues for shifting from a fragmented organization of transport and logistics processes to an integrated system of interregional interaction; this entails aligning supply, production, transportation, distribution, and sales processes through shared organizational management, information and communication, and marketing systems. Implementing sustainable development requires a comprehensive combination of institutional, organizational-economic, infrastructural, digital/informational, and environmental mechanisms. The article focuses on forming regional blocks within the transport and logistics system, developing multimodal transport and logistics centers, integrating supply chain participants, and using digital technologies and tools for interregional coordination. The article justifies viewing transport and logistics infrastructure as a complex system encompassing transport, warehousing, information and communication, institutional, and service components. It has been established that the effectiveness of mechanisms for implementing the concept of sustainable development depends on their capacity to ensure the economic performance of logistics processes, the social accessibility of transport services, environmental balance, and the adaptability of interregional linkages to contemporary challenges. The proposed approach provides a theoretical foundation for improving the management system for interregional transport and logistics interactions in the context of Ukraine’s spatial economic transformation and post-war reconstruction. Keywords: sustainable development, interregional transport and logistics interaction, transport and logistics system, regional integration, regional blocs, transport and logistics infrastructure, organizational-economic mechanism, multimodal transport and logistics centers, supply chains, logistics digitalization, green logistics, spatial transformation of the economy.
