KECENDERUNGAN OTOKRATIK DALAM PERSPEKTIF DEMOKRASI PANCASILA DI INDONESIA
This study aims to analyze autocratic tendencies in the dynamics of Indonesian democracy based on the perspective of Pancasila Democracy. Pancasila Democracy places people's sovereignty, deliberation, social justice, the rule of law, and respect for human rights as the main principles in state administration. However, in contemporary political developments, various phenomena have emerged that are considered by some to be indicative of autocratic tendencies, such as the dominance of executive power, the weakening of the checks and balances mechanism, and reduced public participation in the policy-making process. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach through analysis of laws and regulations, scientific literature, and various studies on democracy and the political system in Indonesia. The results of the study show that Indonesia constitutionally still adheres to a democratic system based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. However, there are challenges in democratic practice that require strengthening state institutions, community participation, democratic political culture, and fair and transparent law enforcement. This study concludes that strengthening the values of Pancasila Democracy is an important factor in maintaining a balance between the effectiveness of government and the principle of people's sovereignty. Therefore, continuous efforts are needed to strengthen civic education, public participation, and the system of supervision over state administration in order to realize a just, inclusive, and in accordance with the values of Pancasila.
