EXPERIENCE IN USING A TWO‑STAGE ENDOPROSTHETIC TREATMENT OF THE KNEE JOINT USING HINGE IN THE PRESENCE OF PERIPROSTHETIC INFECTION
The article analyzes the clinical efficacy of a two-stage endoprosthetic treatment using articulating Hinge spacers in the management of periprosthetic knee joint infection. The study was conducted at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, involving 35 patients (28 men and 7 women) aged 15 to 60 years. Fistulous infection was observed in 70% of cases, and component instability in 82%. The first stage involved the removal of the infected endoprosthesis and implantation of a TCK Hinge spacer; the second stage involved revision arthroplasty after controlling the infection. Good clinical outcomes were achieved in 90% of patients, showing a significant reduction in inflammatory markers and restoration of limb weight-bearing capacity. The results confirm the high feasibility and efficacy of this two-stage approach in revision orthopedics.
