The decoration of Armenian princely headdress during the Mongolian period (XIII-XIV centuries)

The study shows that during the period of Mongol rule, several types of Armenian princely headdresses were known, some of which had their own subtypes, and each of them, in one way or another, was connected to contemporary Mongol headdresses. Princes of the Orbelian and Proshian houses are depicted wearing this type of headdress in contemporary donor reliefs, miniatures, and so on. On the basis of these images, we have attempted to group and classify princely headdresses according to their stylistic and artistic characteristics.
