TPA and EDF based IDS for Smart Home

This repository contains a collection of Python programs implementing a Timed Probabilistic Automata (TPA) and Earliest Deadline First (EDF)-based Intrusion Detection System (IDS) for smart home Internet of Things (IoT) environments. The proposed framework integrates temporal and probabilistic behavioral analysis with real-time task scheduling to identify potentially malicious activities and security violations in interconnected smart home devices. The TPA-based detection mechanism models the expected behavioral patterns of IoT devices by considering event sequences, timing constraints, and probabilistic transitions. Deviations from legitimate device behavior are analyzed to identify suspicious activities and potential security threats. The EDF-based scheduling mechanism prioritizes detection and monitoring tasks according to their execution deadlines. This enables time-critical security events to receive appropriate processing priority, supporting timely intrusion detection in resource-constrained smart home environments.
