Introduction to Community Infrastructure
Slides from the fifth session of the Seeds to Systems cohort, run by OLS (https://we-are-ols.org/seeds-to-systems). When infrastructure works, we rarely notice it. As Susan Leigh Star (1999, p. 382) noted, "the normally invisible quality of working infrastructure becomes visible when it breaks." In this session, participants drew on their own experiences of things breaking or failing to identify the often-invisible infrastructure that sustained their projects and communities. Building on this reflection, we mapped which aspects of this infrastructure S2S addressed directly through the cohort call and where additional resources could be provided.
