This study explores the prospects of applying remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies for monitoring pasture lands and evaluating their ecological condition and productivity. Remote sensing provides timely and objective spatial information about land surface characteristics, while GIS enables the integration, processing, analysis, and visualization of large volumes of geospatial data obtained from multiple sources. The research focuses on the use of Landsat 8 satellite imagery and ArcGIS software to assess vegetation cover, land degradation processes, and spatial changes in pasture ecosystems. The methodological approach includes image mosaicking, spectral band calculations, raster classification, and pixel-based analysis to derive quantitative indicators of pasture conditions. Particular attention is given to the analysis of electromagnetic spectrum bands, especially near-infrared wavelengths, which are effective for vegetation assessment. The results demonstrate that the combined use of remote sensing data and GIS technologies provides reliable spatial and numerical information for evaluating pasture productivity, identifying degraded areas, and supporting sustainable pasture land management and environmental monitoring.
