Analysis of Psalm 1 from the Perspective of Cosmic Consciousness as Described in Maharishi Vedic Science

Maharishi Vedic Science identifies, beyond the commonly experienced waking, dreaming, and sleeping states of awareness, a fourth and fifth state of consciousness—among other higher states of consciousness— Transcendental Consciousness and Cosmic Consciousness. In his Vedic Science, Maharishi, renowned sage and scientist of consciousness, has provided both practical techniques and knowledge to facilitate experience and understanding of these higher states of consciousness, the development of human potential. In this context, this paper presents a new, unique translation and commentary of the Hebrew text of Psalm 1 in the Old Testament. We propose that the description of criteria for being established in the state of Cosmic Consciousness, described in Maharishi Vedic Science, can be identified in the Psalms.
