METHODOLOGICAL PROVISIONS FOR IMPROVING ENTERPRISE BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT BASED ON SMART TECHNOLOGIES

The article substantiates methodological provisions for improving enterprise business process management through SMART technologies. It is established that traditional integral assessments of digital maturity do not always reflect imbalances among technological components and may conceal critical problems due to indicator averaging. To address this limitation, a synergistic-resonance approach is proposed, which simultaneously considers the balance of SMART components, the strength of their interaction, and the most significant managerial deficiency. The assessment system comprises six indicators: platform integration, process sensorization, analytical intelligence, execution automation, data security, and process sustainability. A scale characterizing the absent, partial, or systematic application of the relevant technologies is used for their quantitative assessment. The methodology involves the sequential calculation of the balanced SMART-BPM core based on the weighted harmonic mean, the synergy coefficient derived from pairwise geometric interactions among indicators, the managerial imbalance index, and the integral synergistic-resonance index. The proposed approach is tested using publicly available data from Ukrainian and international enterprises. The results demonstrate that Siemens and Schneider Electric have a highly mature SMART-BPM level, Maersk, DTEK, and Nova Poshta have an integrated level, while Metinvest has a transitional level. It is established that identical integral values may result from different technological constraints. Therefore, problematic components and corresponding areas of managerial intervention are identified for each enterprise. The practical value of the methodology lies in its ability to compare enterprises, identify critical deficiencies, and substantiate targeted decisions concerning the development of digital platforms, analytics, automation, cybersecurity, and business process sustainability.
