THE LAW OF EFFORT

The Law of Effort Research Description This research introduces the Law of Effort, a proposed physical law that examines the relationship between effort, action, reaction, and the influence of medium resistance on mechanical response. The proposed law states that every effort generates an action, followed by a dependent reaction. The action originates from the effort that produces it, which provides the capacity to overcome medium resistance, whereas the reaction is a dependent response that does not originate from an equivalent independent effort. According to the proposed law, the magnitude of this response decreases proportionally to the resistance encountered and the associated energy consumption caused by the medium during the interaction. The study presents the conceptual and mathematical formulation of the Law of Effort and examines its implications in comparison with Newton's Third Law. The research analyzes real experimental measurements from three datasets comprising 97,147 data points, including shear stress, displacement, velocity, and time. It also examines 240 experimental summary records from the College Park dataset, investigating quantitative relationships among force, work, and displacement. The results demonstrate measurable variations in mechanical response and statistical relationships among the examined physical quantities. These findings provide an empirical foundation for investigating the proposed law, while distinguishing the observed experimental relationships from direct verification of its central prediction. The study also establishes methodological guidance for future experimental testing, emphasizing the use of common measurements under identical interaction conditions when comparing the Law of Effort with Newton's Third Law, without introducing assumptions or fixed coefficients not contained in the original formulation. Keywords: Law of Effort, Action and Reaction, Newton's Third Law, Medium Resistance, Energy Dissipation, Mechanical Response, Experimental Mechanics.
