Digital Health Enablement: Developing a conceptual model through theory, user interviews, and expert consensus
This repository supports a PhD research programme at the University of Bath developing and validating the Digital Health Enablement (DHE) construct — a model of the individual-level psychosocial factors that predict who is able to use, engage with, and benefit from digital health technologies (apps, wearables, online health tools, remote consultations, etc.). The work addresses a specific gap in digital divide research: most existing measures focus on access (Level 1) or skills/usage (Level 2) barriers to digital health. The DHE and associated measure targets outcome inequalities (Level 3) — why some people who have access and basic skills still don't benefit from digital health, while others do.
