A complete-case protocol for evaluating funeral home software: synthetic test cases and an evidence rubric
This technical note sets out a repeatable way to evaluate funeral home case-management software using synthetic records. It defines five test scenarios, an evidence rubric and a blank results schema. No customer data or vendor benchmark results are included. It has not been peer reviewed or validated in a field study. The protocol covers a name correction, shift handoff, corrected signature request, payment/refund reconciliation and record export. Evaluators record the observed result, manual work required, software version, date and evidence for each task. A worked arithmetic example shows how to calculate administrative time using local observations rather than assumed industry savings. Prepared and published by FuneralHQ, a software vendor. The same protocol can be applied to FuneralHQ and other products. Commercial affiliation is disclosed; this note does not rank vendors or claim independent endorsement. Project: FuneralHQ.
