SBSA No 63. Infopage: Nagusta sp. - illustration of adults and a nymph.

Summary: SBSA No. 63 is an Infopage created by merging three photographs on a white background. Two adults (a male and a female) and a late instar nymph are illustrated. General information about the ecology and food sources is given. About the author: Diedrich Visser is a retired entomologist who holds a PhD in Entomology from UP. He worked for the Agricultural Research Council of South Africa for more than 37 years. For as long as he can remember, he has scoured bushes to find and photograph arthropods. Downloads: All our outputs are free to download and use for non-commercial purposes. The high-resolution version can be downloaded below the file preview section. Use our outputs in publications by quoting the citation in the lower right-hand pane. Time frame: New SBSA Infopages are continuously being developed and added to the project. Infopages in the SBSA project are part of a larger "septology" of projects (see below). Restricted copies will be made available after relevant review processes are completed. Scope of work: We have multiple projects underway and in the pipeline (SBSA is one of seven). The current goal is to finish the "septology" of projects by mid- to end of 2028. We plan at least 150 outputs/project (total of more than 1,000 single-page outputs). Sources: We only use our own photographs, all of which are copyrighted (c) Diedrich Visser. A large proportion of information that we use emanates from our own observations. Additional information is taken from the scientific literature (we do not use AI). Corrections: Mistakes or inaccuracies will be corrected as soon as they are detected. Zenodo allows for corrections to be made to already published records. Email us in this regard: put "Attention Dr. Diedrich Visser" in the subject line. Contact: Our contact email is indicated on all project outputs (Infopages and infosheets).
