NHOS™ Health Encyclopedia: Architecture, Knowledge Organization, Clinical Condition Coverage, and Integration with the NHOS Intelligence Ecosystem
This technical report documents the NHOS™ Health Encyclopedia, a static, local-first health reference page published by NHOS Labs, Inc. at https://nhos.health/encyclopedia/. It describes content release 1.0.0, frozen at a dataset snapshot date of 31 October 2026. The Encyclopedia contains 495 reader-facing entries organized across 13 body systems, each with a condition overview. It indexes 754 distinct symptom strings through 1,868 symptom–entry relationships and includes 571 alternative names to support information retrieval. A total of 434 entries contain natural-approach notes distributed across 515 content blocks, while 125 entries are flagged to emphasize professional care. The report describes: The Encyclopedia's data model, static architecture and browser-side runtime; Knowledge organization and condition coverage across 13 body systems; Condition overviews, natural approaches and their evidence limitations; The safety-information layer, comprising 34 automatic ingredient-safety checks, 13 body-system-specific “when to see a doctor” notes, 125 professional-care flags, and a seven-row botanical–drug interaction table; and the Pharmacology tab’s six phytochemical profiles; The symptom index, symptom search and condition associations; Integration with the NIME™ Symptom Checker Widget, including 222 NIME records linking to 217 distinct Encyclopedia entries, while maintaining the distinction between the 495 Encyclopedia entries and NIME's 713 condition records; Runtime engineering tests, a FAIR self-assessment, content governance, versioning methodology and a release manifest with SHA-256 checksums. The publication documents the Encyclopedia's local-first design, in which searching and reading take place in the visitor's browser. Its privacy design, including the qualifications associated with externally hosted assets and the shared NHOS website infrastructure, is described in the report. The report states its limitations explicitly. Engineering verification is not clinical validation, and no diagnostic accuracy is claimed. The natural approaches are descriptive and are not graded for strength of evidence. The 271 overviews, symptom lists and alternative names added in October 2026 were developed with automated assistance under the author's direction, and remain pending clinician review. The botanical–drug interaction table is limited in scope, has no individual source citations, and uses undocumented internal evidence classifications. The automatic ingredient-safety checks are lexical rules, not clinical decision support. The deployed Encyclopedia page contains no machine-learning model. The report includes the Node.js analysis procedure, extraction helper and SHA-256 release manifest. Two supplementary machine-readable CSV files provide the complete entry catalogue and symptom index. The frozen HTML release page and companion NIME knowledge-base file are hosted separately and are not included in this Zenodo deposit. The NHOS Health Encyclopedia is an educational health-information resource. It is not medical advice, a diagnostic system, a treatment planner, clinical decision-support software or a medical device.
