Herbal Remedies For Metabolic Disorder
Metabolic diseases such diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, dyslipidemia, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) are major health problems associated with insulin resistance, oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, and abnormalities in glucose and lipid metabolism. This review looks at the potential application of herbal remedies for the prevention and supplemental treatment of metabolic illnesses. Many medicinal plants, including turmeric, garlic, neem, ashwagandha, fenugreek, and cinnamon, contain bioactive phytochemicals with antidiabetic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hypolipidemic, and metabolic regulating properties. These herbal treatments may improve insulin sensitivity, regulate fat and carbohydrate metabolism, reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, and help control weight. However, a variety of parameters, including as patient characteristics, phytochemical composition, dosage, formulation, bioavailability, and plant species, affect how beneficial they are.
