The synergistic effect of rGO and PCN-222 improves the piezoelectricity of the flexible PVDF nanogenerator

Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) has demonstrated significant potential in flexible wearable sensors and piezoelectric nanogenerators (PENGs). Enhancing the piezoelectric properties of PVDF depends on increasing the content of the active β-phase and ensuring compatibility between the piezoelectric-enhancing fillers and the PVDF matrix. In this study, we incorporate zirconium-based metal-organic frameworks (PCN-222) and reduced graphene oxide as synergistic piezoelectric enhancement fillers into PVDF nanofibers, which significantly improves the piezoelectric performance of the PENG. This integration facilitates a synergistic enhancement of electron transfer and structural stability. Consequently, the resulting PENG device demonstrates a high output voltage of 16.99 V and a current of 37.18 μA. In addition, the PENG can be utilized to monitor the motion status of the human body. This study provides new insights into the design of flexible, self-powered piezoelectric sensors.
