INDUSTRY 4.0 AND END-TO-END AUTOMATION: TRANSFORMATION OF MODERN PRODUCTION SYSTEMS AND ENGINEERING EDUCATION
The paper examines the key aspects of the Industry 4.0 concept and its fundamental significance for modern industry. It analyzes the implementation of end-to-end automation, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), digital twins, and cyber-physical systems (CPS) at different stages of the product life cycle. Particular attention is paid to the need to transform academic programs and to introduce virtual interactive laboratories for training a new generation of engineering personnel. A three-stage approach to integrating digital technologies into the educational process of technical universities is proposed.
