Functional Planning Structure of the Congress Hotel
The relevance of the study is determined by the socio-economic development of the country, which creates new conditions for organizing congresses and exhibitions. In many cities, there are no venues for hosting events of the regional and federal signifi-cance, while buildings combining accommodation, catering, recreation, congress business centers, are relatively rare. In addition, there is a lack of guidelines for the development of the architectural design of congress hotels. Purpose: The aim of the study is to identify typological features of congress hotels based on a comparative analysis of the Russian and international experience. Research findings : The key functional blocks and principles of their integration are identified. Organization is determined for the congress center, distribution spaces, vertical zoning, and service circulation. The main design requirements of congress ho-tels are formulated for conditions of dense urban development. Practical implications : The results obtained can be applied to the design of contemporary congress hotels, the development of architectural concepts for multifunctional facilities, and recommendations for integrating congress hotels into the urban environ-ment. The study also provides a basis for further systematization of the regulatory and methodological framework for the design of this building type. Value: It is confirmed that a compact and logically organized spatial structure contributes to a stable development through the efficient use of land, reduced transportation demand, and creation of new centers of the economic growth.
