PATRIOTISM AND COSMOPOLITANISM: SELFHOOD AND THE WORLD
This article analyzes the concepts of patriotism and cosmopolitanism in relation to one another. It explores the historical roots of both ideas, contemporary philosophical debates, analogous perspectives within Eastern and Central Asian thought, and the challenge of balancing personal identity with a global outlook in the era of globalization and digitalization. The study concludes that patriotism and cosmopolitanism are not mutually exclusive poles, but rather complementary approaches that reflect different spheres of human responsibility. Finally, the article proposes the principles of "cosmopolitan patriotism" for the upbringing of the younger generation.
