Perbandingan Pendapatan dan Efisiensi Usahatani Padi dengan Penggunaan Alat Pertanian Modern dan Tradisional di Kabupaten Sragen
The agricultural sector plays a vital role in maintaining regional economic stability and reducing poverty rates in rural areas. In Sragen Regency alone, rice-growing land spans 109,080 hectares and a total production of 641,980 tons of milled dry paddy (GKG).The objectives of this study are to determine whether rice farming income using modern agricultural tools is higher than that using traditional tools in Sragen Regency and to determine whether the efficiency of modern agricultural tools is higher than that of traditional tools in rice farming in Sragen Regency. The primary method used is descriptive quantitative analysis. The study locations were selected using a purposive approach, considering areas with the highest concentration of both modern and traditional agricultural tools. The data analysis methods employed included total cost, revenue, income, efficiency, and comparative income analysis using the independent samples t-test, as well as comparative efficiency analysis using the paired samples t-test.The results of the study indicate that the income from rice farming using modern tools is higher than that from using traditional agricultural tools. In terms of operational efficiency, traditional agricultural tools demonstrate relatively lower performance. Therefore, farmers should continuously improve their knowledge and skills through training and extension programs to enhance their capacity to use a wide range of agricultural machinery. The adoption of modern agricultural equipment in rice farming is also recommended, as it can contribute to increased farm income by improving productivity and reducing labor time requirements.
