EXPLORATION OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL PAINTING WITH DOLL OBJECT INTERVENTION AS A REPRESENTATION OF CHILD LABOR EXPLOITATION IN CONTEMPORARY ART
Child labor exploitation remains a social issue that deprives children of their rights to education, development, and a proper childhood. This artistic project explores three-dimensional painting with doll object intervention as a visual representation of child labor exploitation. The creation applies a practice-based approach through exploration, experimentation, realization, and evaluation. A spider doll covered with sheep-like material is used as a metaphor for hidden structures or individuals that control and benefit from child exploitation. The project resulted in six mixed media artworks combining two-dimensional painting, three-dimensional elements, textured materials, and narrative imagery inspired by children’s storybooks. Through an imaginative yet critical visual approach, the artworks aim to encourage audience awareness and reflection on the normalization and hidden mechanisms of child labor exploitation.
