Strategi Peningkatan Minat Anak Petani untuk Bekerja Pada Sektor Pertanian di Kecamatan Curio Kabupaten Enrekang

The agricultural sector is a strategic sector that contributes significantly to Indonesia's economy and food security, yet it faces a challenge in the form of declining interest among young people, particularly farmers' children, in working in the agricultural sector, which may potentially trigger a crisis in farmer regeneration.This condition also occurs in Curio District, Enrekang Regency, which has the highest percentage of farming households in the regency, but the number of young farmers remains relatively low.This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors influencing farmers' children's interest in working in the agricultural sector and to formulate strategies to increase this interest through SWOT analysis.The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 97 respondents determined using the Lemeshow formula.Primary data were obtained through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, while secondary data were sourced from the Central Statistics Agency, the Enrekang Regency Agricultural Office, and various literature.Data analysis used descriptive analysis, the IFAS-EFAS matrix, the Grand Strategy Matrix, and the SWOT matrix.The results show that weaknesses are more dominant than strengths, while threats are more dominant than opportunities, positioning the strategy in Quadrant IV (Defensive Strategy).The recommended strategy is Weaknesses-Threats (WT), including marketoriented farm efficiency, improved agricultural technology skills, optimized land utilization, business diversification, and strengthened access to capital.This study concludes that increasing farmers' children's interest requires synergy among the government, agricultural extension workers, farmer groups, and families to support farmer regeneration in Curio District.
