The purpose of this article is to present the developed methodology for obtaining of the stepwise distribution of masses over theoretical spaces based on the distribution of masses of elements over loading articles. Methodology. Analytical mathematical methods were used for developing of the specified methodology. Results. The developed methodology is adapted for working with both concentrated and distributed elements. The law of mass distribution of distributed elements is assumed to be linear, two parameters of which are determined from the available information about such components of the element as the beginning, end, position of the center of gravity along the vessel and mass. Thus, the law of distribution of a distributed element is a trapezoid, the area of which represents the total mass of this element. The presented methodology can be applied to an arbitrary number of spaces with their regular and irregular distribution along the vessel. Detailed theoretical principles of the methodology were demonstrated and the corresponding algorithm was developed, within the framework of which, according to the single sub-algorithm, information is processed for various options for the location of distributed elements relative to the boundaries of the spaces. The example of calculation using this methodology and its application for the real ship is shown, where high compliance of the results during verification was demonstrated. Scientific novelty. There is presented the proprietary algorithm for obtaining of a stepped longitudinal distribution of ship weight/masses for a given array of load-bearing element structures, which include extended and concentrated elements. The exception processing algorithm for degenerate trapezoids is proposed, in the case when the center of gravity exceeds 1/3 and 2/3 of the length of the distributed element. Practical significance. The presented methodology can be implemented in the form of software for using in shipbuilding design bureaus, avoiding the usage of expensive CAD and labor-intensive calculations using detailed drawings. The developed method can be developed for approximating of distributed masses according to nonlinear laws, but which depend on two parameters. The proposed methodology can be used independently or as a supplement to other methodologies.
