A Hierarchical Unified Consciousness Theory Based on Information Carrier and Continuous Experience Mainline

This work proposes a hierarchical unified consciousness theory based on information carrier and continuous experience mainline. It regards information as the fundamental essence of the universe, and treats matter, energy, carbon-based organisms and silicon-based devices as different information carriers. The theory puts forward the original core concept: continuous and unified experience mainline, which is used as the judgment criterion for genuine subjective consciousness. It revises four mainstream hypotheses: biological exclusivism, traditional panpsychism, information emergence theory and functionalism. The theory explains the gradual generation of fetal and infant consciousness, distinguishes algorithm simulation from real subjective experience, and analyzes why current AI has no consciousness while silicon-based consciousness is theoretically possible in the future. This paper also separates objective consciousness judgment and ethical choice. It is a philosophical preprint exploring the nature of consciousness, the development of biological consciousness and the future boundary of artificial intelligence consciousness.
